Experiment 8.2

Chapter 8
8.1 8.2 8.3 8.4 8.5
This experiment requires a great deal of time manipulation. Assuming that you followed the advice given in Experiment 8.1, your gateway delays the sending on of each datagram by a certain number of nanoseconds. So you write your client to send a large number of datagrams, your server simply to respond to each of them, and use gettimeofday to measure the delay between each send and the corresponding receive. Since that function measures time in seconds and microseconds, your primary task will be time conversion.
